🎶 Welcome to Bridgewater School of Music

We’re excited to have you join our musical community! Before getting started, we ask all families to review the key points of our attendance and scheduling policy. Setting clear expectations helps us maintain a smooth experience for students, parents, and instructors.

Attendance & Scheduling Summary

At Bridgewater School of Music, your tuition reserves a specific weekly time slot with your instructor. To ensure fairness and consistency for all families, here’s how our policy works:

1. Private Lesson Reschedules

  • Each student is allowed up to 4 reschedules per school year (September–June), regardless of reason.

  • Make-ups must be scheduled within the same season (Fall, Winter, or Spring).

  • Reschedules are a courtesy and not guaranteed. Your tuition secures the agreed-upon day and time for your lesson each week. Any reschedules offered are based on teacher availability and open time slots.

  • No additional credits, refunds, or make-ups will be granted unless the cancellation is on our part.

2. Group Class Reschedules

  • Each group class student may reschedule 1 session per school year (September–June).

  • The make-up will be a 30-minute private lesson and must also occur within the same season.

3. Notice Required

  • We require at least 48 hours’ notice to be eligible for a make-up.

  • Please notify us via email at schedule@bwatermusic.com or use our online reschedule form.

4. Religious & Holiday Closures

  • Absences due to religious observance will not count toward your reschedule allotment—just let us know 48 hours in advance.

  • We are closed on many major holidays. For a full list of closures and seasonal breaks, please refer to our School Calendar.

☀️ Summer Months (July & August)

Lessons continue year-round, including the summer months. The same 48-hour notice policy applies, and reschedules during summer are handled on a case-by-case basis depending on instructor availability.

In addition to our standard monthly tuition, we also offer flexible summer lesson packages for July and August. These are designed to accommodate families with changing summer schedules.
📢 Summer packages are announced every spring.

🚨 Other Important Notes

  • If we cancel a lesson for any reason, we will either offer a make-up or issue a tuition credit.

  • Bad weather? Lessons will be held remotely via Zoom, Skype, or FaceTime.

  • Substitutes: If your teacher is unavailable, a qualified substitute will teach the lesson using your child’s personalized lesson plan.

  • Tuition covers an average of 4 lessons per month. Some months have 3 lessons and others have 5, but it balances out across the year.

  • If you withdraw from lessons, tuition for the current month or season is nonrefundable.

🎵 Why Our Policies Matter

Unlike many appointment-based businesses that rely on walk-ins or frequent schedule changes, music education operates differently. Your weekly lesson time is reserved specifically for you, and our schedule only opens when others cancel. When a lesson is missed, that time—and the preparation that went into it—can rarely be filled by another student. Nor can we be expected to always have additional time available on short notice.

Our policies are designed to support consistency, fairness, and respect for the time our instructors dedicate to each student. We truly appreciate your understanding and partnership.
